Which of the Five Senses Are You?

I couldn't believe this. While I was reading some blogs, I came into a quiz of 'Which of the Five Senses Are You?'. I submitted my answers and this is the result:

You Are the Sense of Taste

You are a complete and total hedonist.
Pleasure is very important to you, and you spend a lot of time finding new pleasures to enjoy.
You hate mediocracy. You demand the best.
Obviously, you love to eat - and you often eat to excess.
You're the first of your friends to know about a new restaurant or dish.
Besides loving food, you love to kiss. It's possible you also love smoking - or at one time did.

Okay... I do love finding new pleasures to enjoy and I always demand for the best.. (even though I'm aware that nobody's perfect). I couldn't deny that I often eat to excess, and I could say that I'm among the first to know about the best place to eat! It's just that I don't smoke, and never had a try..

This quiz is fun. Dare to play?

What gives you hope?

My family. The grand essentials of happiness are : something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.

How often do you get your haircut? Describe your worst haircut.

I get my haircut occasionally. I would rather keep my hair long enough and will only have a haircut just to make it short enough. My last haircut was the worst one, when I had long hair and decided to get it cut short, at a 'semi-pro' hairstylist as introduced by a friend. It turned out.. awful. Thankgod, as time passes by, it's getting longer and I guess I will grew it up and will never go back to that place again!

What's your most treasured piece of jewelry? Why?

I'm thinking hard. Okay... I do have jewelries but none of them being the most treasured piece. I don't really wear them!

'BTT - Inspired'

Since “Inspiration” is (or should) the theme this week … what is your reading inspired by?

I'm a slow-reader, but I like to read. I am mostly inspired by good title of books. How further the title could portray the journey of the story would be an indicator. The story-line also do count in. As I read along the storyline, I would look for a plausible chain of events that may evoke my emotional or artistic response to get inspired.

Do you think a good title makes any difference? What is your inspiration?
Have a nice day!

Manic Monday #151

I was just looking for something to be posted today. I browsed and found this meme. Well it's my first time joining Manic Monday. Another meme to be shared. If you feel like participating too, you may do so at here. Have a happy Monday!

What do you do to make yourself feel better when you are sick?
I admit that I'm a sleepy-head. So when I'm sick, it can be 'the best' reason for me to have a nap for the whole day. Of course, I would clean myself up at the very first place, then you would find me on the bed... sleeping. :)

What is the most amazing weather you've ever seen?
I've seen the so-called 'severe' weather conditions, 'La-Nina' back in 10 years ago. Literally the word 'La-Nina' has been derived from a Latin word that means 'the little girl'. I don't know further, that's all I could remember.

Do you listen to music or talk radio in the car?
I do both. It depends on my mood and the topic. When the dee-jay is discussing something hillarious or informative, I would stay on the channel, otherwise I would be listening collections of music from my favorite singers. I don't listen to traffic report...

Wedding Cupcakes @ Office Meeting?

My schedule was pretty packed the last few days. Works and family matters got jumbled-up, and I didn't really care about the world's headline stories (for even the local one).. Believe it or not, I was lost in my own world! I was just lucky that I didn't faint during those hectic times.

As usual, days would just be empty without baking something scrumptious. Or at least, making fruit-flavoured pudding would just the best way getting my hands in the kitchen. Supposed that our AGM came for a one-whole-day meeting on January 13th, while I was busy completing reports he wanted in the eve, I was also busy in the kitchen baking some cupcakes and making-up some puddings. It was something like being at two different places at one time.

The experience was an unforgettable one, especially when everything ran smooth, unexpectedly. Our AGM satisfied with the overall reports, and everybody loves the cupcakes! I started to receive advanced orders for weddings and birthdays, though I never think of such business! :) I realized that in the middle of difficulty lies opportunity!

By the way, the simple cupcakes decoration leads to confusion when they turned to be like wedding cupcakes (as what my colleagues told me). Just wondering, do they look like wedding cupcakes?

I don't think so... Mmm...
Have a great day!

'BTT - Sing! Sing A Song'

But, enough about books … Other things have words, too, right? Like … songs!
So, today’s question?
What songs … either specific songs, or songs in general by a specific group or writer … have words that you love?
Why?
And … do the tunes that go with the fantastic lyrics live up to them?

Okay, this topic is fun. I have a list of songs that I have loved until now for some certain reasons. The tunes really go well with the lyrics that give me some sorts of inspiration when I listen to them.
  • Home by Michael Buble

'... and I've been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you, each one or line or two, 'I'm fine baby, how are you?', well I would send them but I know that it's just not enough, my words are cold and flat, and you deserve more than that...'

  • You Make Me Feel Brand New by Simply Red

'... without you, my life has no meaning or rhyme, like notes to a song out of time, how can I repay, you for having faith in me...'

  • I'm Alive by Celine Dion

'...when you bless the day, I just drift away, all my worries die, I know that I'm alive.. I get wings to fly, God knows that I'm alive..'

  • Stay the Same by Joey Mcintyre

'...you were meant to be the way you are exactly, don't you ever say you don't like the way you are, when you learn to love yourself, you're better off by far, and I hope you always stay the same, coz there's nothin' bout you I would change..., don't change'

  • Realize by Colbie Caillat

'...take time to realize, I'm on your side, didn't I tell you? take time to realize, this all can pass you by, didn't I tell you? but I can't spell it out for you, no it's never gonna be that simple...'

  • Everything I Own by David Gates

'...is there someone you know, you're loving them so, but taking them all for granted? you may lose them one day, someone takes them away, and they'll never hear the words you have to say...'

What do you think? Do any of these has effect on you?

How about yours? Happy BTT!

A pleasant surprise awaits me when I looked on my email this afternoon. I received an award from somebody who is so sweet and being thoughtful! Can you imagine how thrilled I was when I got to know that the person thinks that my blog was such worthy to her???

Bunch of thanks to Bella (at Bella is Reading...) for awarding me this wonderful award. This is my first award ever since I started blogging few months ago. Dear Bella, I just really can't express in words, how thankful I am!!!

'BTT - The Best'

It’s a week or two later than you’d expect, and it may be almost a trite question, but … what were your favorite books from 2008?

I have several 'favourite books' that I have loved in 2008. And those were I considered to be 'The Best' since they could 'emotionally' attract me. Truthfully, as I adore the author so much, I consider most of their writings were incredibly impressive.
My favourite line-ups:

If You Could See Me Now by Cecilia Ahern
Thanks for the Memories by Cecilia Ahern
Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult
The Guy Not Taken by Jennifer Weiner
Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner
Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella
The Gift by Cecilia Ahern

What's yours?

Happy BTT!!!

New Year Cupcakes

Although we are in the 6th day of 2009, the celebration's not over yet. On new year's eve, I was too busy in the office for year-end closing, while others were enjoying their moments leaving 2008 memories behind. I remembered, at almost 11.00 post-meridiem I was still on the road trying to reach home by midnight.

Luckily, I managed to get home as I wished but I was too tired to welcome the new year. Fireworks lighting up the sky in the city can be seen from my home but again, I didn't feel the whole excitement. At that time, getting enough sleep was all I needed. Yeah... I didn't celebrate on the exact time, it was only since the past few days I started to send wishes to friends & relatives. Pathetic, wasn't it? :)

And only last Sunday I prepared few boxes of cupcakes with 'Happy 2009' wording and distributed them to few families of friends, relatives & neighbours. They were so happy & thanked me of being so thoughtful although I was quite late. Time doesn't matter, it's their happiness makes me feel so alive.

To all...

'We make living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give...'

'..our life is full of colors, I hope this 2009 will add more colors to your life...'
