Row The Boat

Row, row, row your boat

Gently down the stream

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily

Life is but a dream..

'Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong'.
~Ella Fitzgerald

Pictures were taken at my elder brother's place, somewhere in Kudat, the northern part of Sabah. The district is most well-known of the northernmost point on the island of Borneo.

I'm participating for Ruby Tuesday & Watery Wednesday. Feel free to visit other bloggers from around the world too by clicking on one of the button below.

Mellow Yellow Monday #56

A row of 19th century Chinese shophouses, in the oldest street of Kuching, Sarawak.

It is still a holiday here in conjunction with the celebration of Lunar New Year. This year, it falls on February 14th, welcoming the vividly lucky, lively and engaging Golden Tiger Year. I would love to post something about the tiger, but it seems that I only have more red pictures in my picture galleries. Perhaps it will be perfect for Ruby Tuesday tomorrow. :)

I hope you'll have a wonderful Monday!!

James Brooke Bistro Cafe @ SOOC #65

As early as few minutes before 6 a.m.

And as the sun started to shine..

James Brooke Bistro Cafe is located at the Waterfront, Kuching, Sarawak. Within 5 minutes walking distance from Hilton Hotel, Kuching and the famous bazaar, the bistro is a centre of attraction for tourists to have their meals while serving their eyes with the calming view of the waterfront.

Ruby Tuesday - Hanging Origami Mobile

It is astounding how relaxing these origami mobiles are. Incredibly, they can be thousands of them, glance gently in the breeze, even in the slightest motion of air.

It's my first time joining Ruby Tuesday. Bunch of thanks to Mary for hosting this great meme. To join, simply click on the logo below.

Holiday reminiscing...

Sorry I left clueless on my previous post of 'Watery Wednesday #27'. I never thought the shot I took from a room that I rented was quite inspiring for some people.
Back on the location, it was in Kudat, the northern tip of Sabah Division. I was here last year, with my family for a holiday trip as well as visiting immediate family. We stayed at the 'Kudat Golf & Marina Resort'. I remembered, the long journey through the picturesque scenery of villages and paddy fields, and the tranquility of unspoiled country charm finally brought us here.

The resort, Kudat Golf & Marina Resort

Our room was located in the middle of the building on the 2nd floor. I was standing at the jetty to shot this.

The Jetty and The Golf Course

This is a good justification why one should stay here, you gotta see both the park and sea views... which is very odd for most of the resorts in the world! (This is an unpaid promotional advertising, just my honest opinion)

Also being the Marina

and a place for peace and tranquility..

From the room.. which I wish, I was here, again...

Points to Ponder...

'Where there is pain, I wish you peace and mercy.
Where there is self-doubting, I wish you a renewed confidence in your ability to work through it.
Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I wish you understanding, patience, and renewed strength.
Where there is fear, I wish you love, and courage...'

Wealth, Success and Love..

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.

"No", she replied. "He's out."

"Then we cannot come in", they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in".

"We do not go into a House together," they replied.

"Why is that?" she asked.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth.. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"

His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"

Their daughter-in- law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"

Their daughter-in- law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"

"Go out and invite Love to be our guest." The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?" The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!!! !"

Birthday Cupcakes

Yay!!! It's public holiday over here and I was assigned to prepare cupcakes for my nephew's belated birthday. His younger sister is celebrating her birthday today, December 29th. I prepared those cupcakes earlier, though they were not as good as I expected they were supposed to be. I wanted them to be more alluring but as I was really tired and sleepy, I just managed to come out with these.

This one was rather very simple...

Anyway, a wish for my little nephew...

Happy Belated Birthday!!! Aunt will do better next time..

Wishing You Joy & Good Tidings..

It's December 25th and I guess there's merriment everywhere. Here too, all are 'in the mood' of the holiday and trees are decorated with nice ornaments and lights. Most of the shopping complexes have their own Christmas attractions and I could say they were really really nice. I managed to take some shots at one of the shopping complex here in the city.

I took this pic almost 2 weeks ago. The setting was cute with those huge lollipops, though it looked very simple.

The bread house looks yummy too.. and for that I baked and decorated these cupcakes just to follow the mood.

May blessings shine upon you.. :)
